Introduction
This tetra's basic body color of golden brown varies form pale silver in females to a deep copper in males. This species has transparent yellowish fins tipped with white. These fish tend to be great for community tanks, and are quite peaceful.

Tank Setup
Silver Tip Tetras like plant cover to hide in, also note, some definite water movement for the fish is good -- as they are originally found in streams and rivers.

Community Tips
Silver Tip Tetras are best kept in schools of four or more. These fish are considered to be quite peaceful. Excellent for community tanks.

Feeding Tips
Feed with flakes or freeze dried tablets. An added treat to the diet of live food such as bloodworms or mosquito larva is also recommended for these fish.

Sexual Identification & Breeding
Not easy to breed, but the babies are easy to raise. The male Silver Tip Tetra is golden while the females are more of a pale silver.
