Introduction
The Gold Tetra is a smaller, peaceful, community fish. However, it is not a beginners fish. These fish can be very sensitive to their water parameters, so that they can become ill with diseases and parasites and infect an entire tank. These fish do tend to be schooling fish, so if they are in a tank, five or more are recommended.

Tank Setup
A planted tank with bright lighting is the best habitat. Care must be taken to monitor water values as the Gold Tetra can be prone to diseases and parasites.

Feeding Tips
Readily accepts a variety of flake and live foods.

Sexual Identification & Breeding
Very difficult, chance matings are rare. The female anal fin has a white leading edge and a red hue.
